The fall is almost here (!!), so I wanted to write and update you on all that will be going on with All Saints Youth this coming semester.
First things first: our staff is growing! Many of you know that we've been searching and praying for a Female Youth Director for many months. I'm thrilled to say we've found one in Grace Anne Wood.
Grace Anne was raised in Dallas. She studied art at Texas Woman’s University and then spent four years teaching middle and high school art. Her time spent teaching and shaping young ones has primed her greatly for this role. Grace Anne is warm, kind, creative, and thoughtful. She is married to Leighton and they have a 14-month-old son, Elliot. Their family loves spending time outdoors, and Grace Anne continues to paint in her spare time. I can't wait for you to meet her!
It remains my Number One youth ministry conviction: to cultivate lasting faith in teenagers, we must let them taste and see Christ in older adults. As mentioned before, I'm...more
Our friends and missions partners, the McReynolds family, recently put together this video of their family in Madagascar. A wonderful glimpse into their extraordinary day-to-day life.
"Titus Hall and I are leaving from Houston June 21st and arriving June 23rd. We will be staying with the McReynolds on a small island off the coast of Madagascar called Nosy Be. We will be spending our time getting a taste of all the different ministries the McReynolds are involved in. We will also be meeting the local people and understanding the culture of their island, so that in future years we can come and have specific ways in which we can minister to them alongside of the McReynolds."
"I will be leaving on July 3rd and Titus will be staying with the McReynolds. On July 7th Patty and Hannah Edling will be traveling to Madagascar and staying with Titus and the McReynolds until July 17th. We plan on bringing as much stuff out to the McReynolds as we can to help support their ministries and we will be bringing back some art from their island to sell at the church. This is a vision...more
I can't express how thankful I am for the incredibly rich time that Holy Week and Easter worship were for us as a church. The flower arrangement on the cross inside the Interim Sanctuary (pictured above) probably expressed it best - beauty, depth, life, joy, renewal, excitement, wonder, hope.... Thank you to everyone who came and worshipped (over 1,200 souls!) and a special thanks to those who lead or served in some capacity. It was a true blessing to me as Senior Pastor to be with you for another Easter.
I've now been on pastoral staff at All Saints for 12 years – the last 6 of those as Senior Pastor. This summer also marks Elissa and my 20th wedding anniversary, so the majority of our married life has been spent here at All Saints. And maybe it goes without saying, but please know that it's not only at Easter that we are overwhelmed with gratitude to have the privilege of sharing our life with you.
This summer will include something new for me as a pastor - a sabbatical. I've never taken a true sabbatical before; 4 years ago I took a six-week...more
With great thankfulness, sadness, and hope, All Saints announces Rev. Josh Eby's request to be released from his pastoral responsibilities at All Saints, effective April 9, in order to focus on full-time ministry at Vida House (formerly the Center for Latino Leadership). Because Josh was voted into the role of Associate Pastor by the congregation, the PCA Book of Church Orderrequires a formal congregational vote to release him from his pastoral call at All Saints; the congregational vote will take place Sunday, March 4.
Please read more from Josh below...
Dear All Saints Community,
Our family moved to Austin and began worshipping at All Saints in late 2010. Since then, you have loved, cared for, and supported our family and we have loved, cared for, and supported this community. Since the summer of 2012, I have juggled my pastoral responsibilities at All Saints alongside those as the founder and director of the Center for Latino Leadership.
Over this time, All Saints...more
