RUF at The University of Texas

RUF stands for Reformed University Fellowship and is the campus ministry of the Presbyterian Church in America. As a Christian ministry at UT, RUF strives to reach students with the good news of Jesus and to equip students to serve others.

Campus Minister

  • John Trapp

John grew up in Tuscumbia, Alabama and attended Vanderbilt University. John met Chrissy through their involvement with Reformed University Fellowship (RUF) at Vanderbilt. Upon graduation, Chrissy worked as an RUF intern at NC State. Afterwards, the two of them moved to Houston, TX where John served as a director for children and student ministries at Christ the King Presbyterian Church for 6 years. John is a graduate of Redeemer Theological Seminary. The Trapps love the city of Austin, and they love ministering through RUF to the students of UT-Austin. The Trapps have four children: Owen, Lucy, Georgia, and Betsy. Some common family activities include: reading, swimming, golfing, and watching Cleveland Indians baseball.
