As the people of God, we are always called to enter into the pain of the world in faith, hope and love, knowing that our God keeps faith forever, gives food to the hungry, lifts up those who are bowed down, watches over the sojourners, and reigns forever. As we respond to those affected by Harvey, we are asking you to help in the following ways:
We are receiving gifts through the All Saints Benevolence Fund. Give directly here or write a check to All Saints with "Harvey Benevolence" in the memo line. Funds marked "Harvey Benevolence" will go to the Benevolence Fund in order to directly aid those individuals, families, and churches relationally connected to us that have been affected by the flooding and storms. We know that many of your friends and family have been affected and we want to be able to help as much as possible. Please give as generously and as joyfully and you are able.
We have limited space to receive needed items at this time. If you would like to donate items we encourage you to read through the list of critical needs and donate through the Austin Disaster Relief Network at one of their drop-off locations.
All Saints will coordinate with the the PCA's Mission to North America (MNA) Disaster Response to organize teams to help in 2 stages: relief and rebuilding. We are partnering with churches most affected by Harvey and will begin to send teams down to assist with immediate relief efforts and longer-term rebuilding efforts. We are in conversations with pastors and leaders from South Texas and the Houston-Metro area about how we can be of most help and will communicate more as teams are formed. If you have family and friends in need of relief and rebuilding work, please e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We want to be prepared to receive evacuees and refugees that might come to Austin. If you know of friends or family in need of a place to stay or if you are willing to host those in need, please e-mail us email@example.com. We will communicate evacuee needs and ways you can help as we learn more.
As information continues to become available and we learn of new ways to help we will post updates to the Facebook group, "Austin Area Churches Disaster Response." Please let us know if you'd like to be invited to this group by requesting access or by emailing the church office.
Thank you for the ways you are already embodying our vision to be "the body of Christ in Austin, for the world." We are prayerful and hopeful that God will bless our work, as we put our trust and hope in him.
