Addiction Recovery Group

A Christ centered 12-step program for those seeking to live in sobriety and grow closer to God

“I will extol you, O Lord, for you have drawn me up and have not let my foes rejoice over me. O Lord my God, I cried to you for help, and you have healed me.

O Lord, you have brought up my soul from Sheol; you restored me to life from among those who go down to the pit.” -Psalm 30:1-3

As those who have broken the bonds of alcohol and drug addictions, we know how serious and terrifying that darkness can be. We know what it’s like to feel completely hopeless and stuck in a vicious cycle of self-abuse. It’s a debilitating sin that can take over your life. It affects your walk with God, those you love most, and your relationship with yourself.

God gathers us to himself to be and to live as his children. For those living with an addiction, sobriety and walking in relationship with Christ is the beginning of that gathering. God has called us into community and communion with one another for this reason; we do it together!

We invite you to sit in with our group where we encourage one another through prayer, share life stories with all its victories and defeats, and look at scripture to see how it shapes our walk with God.

  • Thursdays at 7:45-9:00PM
  • All Saints Presbyterian Church, RM 208

We gather together to do 12-step work towards recovery to help the addict or alcoholic who is currently struggling, and help the recovered alcoholic or addict stay sober through relationship with God and with one another.

We will have a topic for each meeting with questions and group sharing in between. We will look at scripture in the Bible and see how it connects with the topic. This is the platform for our discussions and time of sharing. We will open and close each meeting with prayer.

One-on-one discipleship and mentoring is available and encouraged. Outside of the group we would love to meet for coffee or lunch for one on one time. Complete anonymity will be maintained. Identity of participants and anything shared in the meeting will not be disclosed or discussed outside of the meeting.

Addictions can sometimes be a matter of life and death and we understand. We’ve been there. This is a place of refuge and a first step to seeking the help that God may be calling you to take. For some, it may just be something they do a little too often and a little too much, and for others your situation may be more severe. Wherever you may be on this spectrum, this is an open group and all are welcome. If you are struggling with an addiction and have an honest desire to live a sober life in Christ, this may be the group for you!
