God is at work and has brought more foreign students to college campuses in the United States than to any other nation. We respond to God’s work and obey God’s Word by welcoming students from all nations and equipping kingdom ambassadors for Christ’s worldwide church. RUF International seeks to reflect God's grace to an international audience. Since God welcomed us when we were foreigners to Christ's kingdom, we share hospitable deeds and gospel words in His Name with internationals.
Terry Dykstra, is the RUF International minister at The University of Texas.
Originally from Colorado, Terry lived most of his life in suburban Georgia before coming to Austin in summer 2017 to continue the work of RUF International at Texas. Terry was a Journalism major at the University of Georgia, where he met his wife Mary Rose through RUF. After Terry finished his internship with RUF at Western Kentucky, they married in June 2014, and have one cat named Agnus. Terry graduated from Reformed Theological Seminary in Atlanta in May 2017, and was a part-time RUF Intern during his studies. Through relationships at Georgia Tech and his church, Terry developed a heart and desire for international student ministry and for reaching the nations with the good news of Jesus Christ. Terry enjoys watching most sports but especially football, listening to all sorts of podcasts, and likes playing volleyball, tennis, racquetball, and frisbee. Together, he and Mary Rose enjoy good food, art, theatre, reading, working out and riding bikes. They look forward to meeting students from all the nations represented at UT, and Terry would love to meet on campus over coffee or lunch!
