Following the seasons of Advent and Christmastide, where we rejoiced at Christ's first coming, we are left with an encounter with the incarnate Christ and the question of how to live in the light of his resurrection and the anticipation of his second coming. God appeared to us in an unmistakable way, taking on flesh and reconciling man to God, so we must come away changed from this encounter. This change is a complete and total transformation of our lives. But are we resisting this calling or participating in it? What do we need for the transformation to continue? The short answer is a renewed vision not only of God, but also of ourselves and our lives. Thankfully, God did not leave us alone on this quest but led the way for us and set an example in Jesus Christ.
Thomas F. Torrance stated that "[God] breaks into our monologue with ourselves and assumes us into a dialogue with himself." This dialogue, a form of divine grace, means that we are not on our own in the radical changing of our lives.
Join us on Sundays this Epiphany season as we reflect on Christ being made known to us and how to be transformed by him. You can listen to past sermons
