Lent is a season of remembering that Christ suffered on our behalf on the cross, of repentance where we turn away from the world and back to God, of entering into a period of spiritual death to ultimately reap spiritual resurrection, mirroring, too, the shift from winter to spring. This year, we will spend the six weeks of Lent examining the Book of Ecclesiastes, grappling with topics such as the brevity of life and living life in the light of our mortality. While these reminders may seem bleak, they are a desperately needed wake-up call to the fact that life only makes sense in the context of the cross. Through Jesus' sacrifice, he gave us the gift of salvation, which gives meaning to all that we do.
With this Lenten perspective, we will turn back to God in repentance, all the while preparing our hearts for Jesus' triumphant victory on Easter Sunday. The fruit of the season is to reorient our priorities back toward God so that we may hold death in tension with an abundant life laden with generosity, wisdom, and freedom that are only found in God and his perfect love.
Join us on Sundays this Lent as we return to Christ through understanding our lives as whispers spoken in the wind, through taking off the old, and putting on the new, made ready for us through Christ. You can listen to past sermons
