Volunteer Resources

"For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve,
and to give his life as a ransom for many.” - Mark 10:45
All Saints relies on over 150 volunteers each Sunday. That means, there are opportunities for every member to serve and utilize their gifts in some capacity. Because you know your availability best, you get to pick the dates that you will serve. Simply click on the icon below for your serving area, login, and sign up to fill a spot this Sunday, next Sunday, or three months from now. If you don't currently serve in a ministry, the scheduler will not be viewable to you. To be added to new service areas, please fill out our volunteering interest form.

Sunday Worship Volunteers

Lead Usher Description
Lead Ushers help ensure a smooth and orderly experience for all who attend. There is a 4-week rotation of teams. Meaning you have a once-a-month commitment.
Time Commitment: 10–15 minutes before the service and 10 minutes after.
Pre-Service Responsibilities: Identify open seats and seat latecomers, if needed ask people to avoid having empty seats to create openings for couples and families.
Service Responsibilities: Count attendance using the usher counting card which can be picked up at the office desk, open doors for small saints, and assist with communion ushering or offertory (an assignment area will be provided upon arrival, if needed).
Post-Service Responsibilities: Pick up trash, check for items left behind, and wipe or sweep the communion rails as needed. (Brooms are located in the janitor's closet near the kitchen and the utility closet near the bathrooms.)

Communion Usher Description
Pick up your serving details card at the office desk before the service begins to see which section you have been assigned.
Description: Communion Ushers guide the orderly and hospitable release of congregants by row within their assigned section, ensuring a smooth and reverent flow to the communion pews. There are five sections total, and each usher's assignment will be indicated on their card.
Time Commitment: Ushers are welcome to attend the full service as usual. When it is time for communion, ushers simply stand by their assigned section and guide their rows forward as communion servers come to the front to receive the elements
Hospitality Team Description

Greeter Description
Greeters play a vital role in creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for everyone who walks through our doors.
Time Commitment: Greeters are welcome to attend the service as usual. They simply need to remain in their assigned greeting position until they feel most attendees have arrived.

Assignments are organized into two stations:
1. Welcome Table
Stand behind the welcome table to greet arriving guests and members, answer any questions, and provide basic information about the church or materials available at the table.
2. Narthex Doors
Hand out bulletins to guests as they arrive, either stationed outside the building doors or at the doors leading into the interim sanctuary, opening doors as needed to ensure a smooth and welcoming entry.

Communion Prep Description
Communion Prep is a before and after service opportunity to help prepare and care for the communion elements. Volunteers in this role are assisted and supported by the Staff on Duty throughout as needed. You are welcome to attend the service as usual once everything is placed at the altar table. You can sign up for both set-up and teardown or just for one of them.

Arrival: 45–60 minutes before the start of your scheduled service to prepare communion.

Departure: 30–45 minutes after the end of your scheduled service to clean up communion ware.

Setup instructions can be found in the communion prep booklet located in the kitchen closet (note: the number of trays needed may vary for special services or by season). Specific details for that week's needs will be emailed directly to you each Friday.
Reader Description
Scripture Readers play a meaningful role in leading the congregation through God's Word during the service.

Getting Started: To become a Scripture Reader, submit a video of yourself reading a Bible passage, and email or text Paulina Hurley, our Worship Coordinator, for approval. Once approved, you'll be added to the reader list and able to sign up for upcoming services.

Preparation: On Friday, you'll receive an email with a link to the bulletin so you can review your assigned passages ahead of Sunday.

Time Commitment: Scripture Readers are welcome to attend the service as usual. On Sunday, pick up your card and review the instructions on the back. Make your way to the stage area at the beginning of the last verse of the song. After reading, you may return to your seat using the ramp behind the choir.
