Dr. Claudia Kramer Springer, PhD

Claudia K. Springer, 77, residing in Austin, TX and Vermilion, OH passed away Friday, January
16, 2026, after a lengthy battle with cancer.

 Born on August 1, 1948, in Cleveland, OH, Claudia was the daughter of the late James W. and
Evelyn L. (Koester) Kramer. She was a 1966 graduate of Cuyahoga Heights High School and
went on to have an extraordinary academic career. Claudia graduated from Cornell University
with triple majors in English, French, and History. She later earned two master’s
degrees—Education and English Literature—from the University of Miami in Florida, followed by
a PhD in English Literature.

 Claudia dedicated 20+ years of her career to Westminster Christian School in Miami, FL, where
she taught numerous subjects, but primarily English and French. She also served for a time as
acting high school principal. Her love of language, music, and learning enriched the lives of
countless students.

 A gifted pianist and vocalist, Claudia was a lifelong church choir member and, most recently,
worshiped with All Saints Presbyterian Church in Austin, TX. Her faith was foundational to all
that she lived and believed. As well she was an avid reader, a masterful cook, and talented artist
who decorated her world with flowers. Claudia brought beauty, chocolate, and word games to
her many friends. Above all, she was deeply devoted to her family. Claudia loved her children
and grandchildren wholeheartedly. She will be remembered for her kindness, positivity, grace,
and unwavering faith that she exemplified to all.

 Claudia is survived by her husband of 56 years, Jeff Springer; three children and their
spouses: Matthew Springer and Noel Nevers of Boulder, CO, Holly and Caleb Noel of Austin,
TX, and Timothy Springer and Angelika Rampal of Newport Coast, CA. She also had eight
grandchildren, Ara and Heather Springer, Campbell, Marjorie and Gear Noel, and Chaaya,
Vahn, and Shanti Springer; her sister: Janet Peer and husband Craig Peer of Vermilion, OH;
and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

 In addition to her parents, Claudia was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Kramer.
 Two celebrations of Claudia's life will take place. There will be a funeral in Austin on February
6 th , and a memorial service in Vermilion, Ohio in early summer.
